Continuing Education

Quality education is what distinguishes you as a professional. The Ruidoso/Lincoln County Association of REALTORS® is dedicated to providing quality continuing education for all of our members. Our goal is to ensure you not only receive your required Continuing Education hours, but increase the knowledge you need to improve your business.

New Mexico Real Estate Commission Continuing Education Requirements
  • All brokers are subject to continuing education

  • Continuing education is reported with your renewal and the certificates are uploaded.

  • Each licensee is required to complete three consecutive years of NMREC Core Courses. No other continuing education course will substitute for the NMREC Core Course.

  • Classes required due to disciplinary action are not to be used to meet renewal requirements.

  • Classes cannot be duplicated and must be earned during your current license cycle.

  • Newly licensed real estate brokers (Associate and Qualifying) are required to complete the thirty-hour NMREC New Broker Business Practices course within the first year of obtaining your real estate license.

  • NMREC Instructors, Training Requirements, and Continuing Education.

National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics Requirement

Additionally, REALTORS® are also required to fulfill a Code of Ethics requirement every 3 years. Ethics is both a membership requirement and a CE requirement.

 

Beginning with Code of Ethics Cycle 8 all NAR members will be required to complete two hours of fair housing training every three years. The move is intended to ensure real estate professionals are aware of and following rules related to the national Fair Housing Act. The three-year cycle for existing agents will begin in 2025 in conjunction with NAR’s Code of Ethics training.

Ruidoso/Lincoln County Association of REALTORS® Requirements

All members, regardless of membership type, are required to attend RLCAR New Member Orientation within ninety (90) days of joining or the next scheduled orientation. Failure to complete RLCAR New Member Orientation will result in termination of your membership.

All members, regardless of membership type, are required to complete NAR Code of Ethics within thirty (30) days of joining unless you can provide proof of completion of an NAR Code of Ethics course within the last NAR Code of Ethics cycle. Failure to complete NAR Code of Ethics will result in termination of your membership.
